Let’s get digital! | Part 5: Team Collaboration

In our blog series, “Let’s get digital”, we want to demonstrate how you can make the most of a digital lab notebook and to show the advantages that digitizing your data can bring.

So far in this series, we have discussed data integration, data editing,  data retrieval and protocols & templates. This week, we move onto the topic of team collaboration and features and tools integrated into digital lab notebooks to benefit your workflow.

Let’s get Digital | Part 5: Team Collaboration

Share your projects in real time

Rather than sending or sharing data each time you want to collaborate with a team member, your projects can be shared instantly. In labfolder, you can work collaboratively on whole projects, which are shared automatically with the team you are working with. The experiments that are completed and in progress can be seen by everyone in your group. This means less checking and re-checking work that has already been done.

Divide your team into groups & subgroups

But not every team member needs every single project shared with them. Not everyone is always working on the same projects, so some experiments may just be clutter. This is why, in labfolder, you can divide groups into subgroups, and split those into further subgroups. With this feature, you can clearly define which data gets shared between which teams or which departments.

Collaboration tools:

There are so many collaboration tools and productivity apps out there. The difficulty, now, seems which ones to choose from the overwhelming choice. Within the labfolder platform, there are several tools already integrated designed to optimize collaboration. This means you can find all your apps related to your experiments in one platform – so efficient!

Comment directly on projects

Once you’ve shared your projects with your group, group members can also give feedback directly on the content in the form of comments. This means you can see straightaway which parts of your experiment need to be worked on and how.

Assign tasks to team members

You can assign tasks to group members and track the task’s progress status. You can also see which tasks you’ve been assigned and alert people once they have been completed. Assigning tasks facilitates lab management and organization so that your lab can run smoothly.

Send in-messages

Rather than switching between different messaging apps, all your lab communications can stay with your lab notebook. You can find all the collaboration tools you need to run a lab efficiently on one platform. This means your team can work closer together and optimize their workflow.
